The Indian Treasure-trove Act, 1878
Section 18. Collector to exercise powers of Civil Court.
A Collector making any enquiry under this Act may exercise any power conferred by the Code of Civil Procedure1 (14 of 1882) on a Civil Court for the trial of suits.
