Section 17. National Teachers’ Eligibility Test for Indian System of Medicine.

(1) A National Teachers' Eligibility Test shall be conducted separately for the postgraduates of each discipline of Indian System of Medicine who desire to take up teaching profession in that discipline. (2) The Commission shall conduct the National Teachers' Eligibility Test for Indian System of Medicine through such designated authority and in such manner as may be specified by regulations. (3) The National Teachers’ Eligibility Test for Indian System of Medicine shall become operational on such date, within three years from the date on which this Act comes into force, as may be notified by the Central Government: Provided that nothing contained in this section shall apply to the teachers appointed prior to the date notified under sub-section (3).
