THE JAMMU AND KASHMIR PANCHAYATI RAJ ACT, 1989
Section 55. Chairperson and members to be public servants.
(1) Every member including the 1[Chairperson] of the Panchayati Adalat shall be deemed to be a public servants within the meaning of section 21 of the 2[Indian Panal Code (45 of 1860)].
(2) The provisions of the 3[Judicial Officers Protection Act, 1850 (18 of 1850)] shall apply to every Panchayati Adalat and to every member thereof while acting judicially.
