The Maharashtra Public Libraries Act, 1967.
Section 5. Term of office of and allowances to members of Council.
(1) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, at the members of the Council, not being members ex-officio, shall hold office for a term of three years commencing on the date on which the first meeting of the Council is held after the nomination of the members under sub-section (2) of section 3.
(2) The members of the Council shall be entitled to such compensatory allowances and at such rates as may be prescribed.
