The Maharashtra Lifts Act.

Section 2. Extent and commencement.

1[(1) This Act shall extend to the whole of the 2[State of Maharashtra] . (2) It shall come into force 3[in the pre-Reorganisation State of Bombay] on such date as the 4[State] Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette,5[appoint; and in that part of the 6[State of Maharashtra] to which it is extended by the Bombay Lifts (Extension) Act, 1957 (Bom. XXVIII of 1958), it shall come into force on such other date as the State Government may by like notification published in the like manner, appoint].
