The Maharashtra Official Languages Act, 1964
Section 1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1) This Act may be called the Maharashtra Official Languages Act, 1964.
(2) It extends to the whole of the State of Maharashtra.
(3) This sections and section 3 shall come into force on the 26th day of January 1965; and the remaining provisions of this Act shall come into 1, 2force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint; and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act or different matters referred to in those provisions.
