The Meghalaya Police Act, 2010 (Act No. 7 of 2011)
Section 107. False or misleading statement made to the police.
Whoever makes a false statement or a statement which is misleading in material particulars to police for the purpose of obtaining any benefit shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months or a fine of Rs. 5,000/- or both.
