Section 13. The Academic Council

(1) The Academic Council shall consist of the following, namely:- The Academic Council1the Vice-ChancellorEx-officio Chairman 2the Director, ResearchEx-officio Member 3the Director, Extension EducationEx-officio Member 4the Director, Prioritization, Monitoring and EvaluationEx-officio Member 5the Director Students WelfareEx-officio Member 6the Director, Human Resource DevelopmentEx-officio Member 7the Chairpersons of all FacultiesEx-officio Member 8Deans of all constituent collegesEx-officio Member 9the Controller of ExaminationsEx-officio Member 10the University Heads of all the departments from each Faculty (from teaching campuses only not below the rank of Associate Professor)Member 11one teacher of the Professor rank from each Faculty to be nominated by the ViceChancellor on rotational basisMember 12one eminent Agricultural Educationist from outside of the University to be nominated by the Vice-ChancellorMember 13RegistrarMember 14the Director of EducationSecretary (2) The Academic Council may co-opt as members not more than four persons in such manner as may be prescribed so as to secure adequate representation, of different sectors of agriculture and allied fields. (3) All members of the Academic Council other than the ex-officio members and members referred in sub-section (2) shall hold office for a term of two years. (4) One third of the members of the Academic Council shall form quorum at a meeting of the Council: Provided that if a meeting of the Council is adjourned for want of quorum, no quorum shall be necessary at the next meeting for the transaction of the same business. (5) Normally the Academic Council shall meet once in every four months on such dates as may be fixed by the ViceChancellor, however, special meetings of the Academic Council can be called by the Vice-Chancellor.
