The Registration Act, 1908

Section 6. Registrars and Sub-Registrars

The 2 State Government may appoint such persons, whether public officers or not, as it thinks proper, to be Registrars of the several districts, and to be Sub-Registrars of the several sub-districts, formed as aforesaid, respectively.
