The Telangana Gift Goods (Prevention of Unlawful Possession) Act, 1965.
Section 5. Offences under this Act to be cognizable.
(1) Notwithstanding anything in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 18981 any offence punishable under this Act shall be a cognizable offence within the meaning of that Code.
(2) No court inferior to that of a Chief City Magistrate in the cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad or of a Magistrate of the First Class elsewhere shall try any offence punishable under this Act.
