A clerk's morning routine for tracked matters
A simple order of checks each morning, using the cause list and My Day, so no hearing is missed.

A few steps, in the same order every day, catch most surprises. This is a routine you can adapt.
1. Open My Day
My Day lists the matters you track that are relevant today. Start here, then confirm against the official list in step 2. It is a convenience, not the official record.
2. Check the official cause list
Open the cause list and any supplementary list on the Court's website. Look for each matter by case number or diary number. Our guide to reading the cause list explains the parts.
3. Note court and item number
For each listed matter write down the court, the item number and the advocate who appears. Tell the advocate the same morning.
4. Check last evening's orders
Open the latest order of each tracked matter. Look for new dates, notices and directions that change what is needed before the next hearing.
5. Look again later in the day
A supplementary list or a change in listing can come after the first check. Look once more before the court rises.
6. Keep a short log
A line for each matter: what happened, what is next, by when. A tracked case in LawyerInsight keeps the order history, so your log only needs the action.
Turn on notifications for tracked matters so a new listing or order reaches you without searching.
