How to find a Supreme Court case by party, number or order text, and what you see when you open one.

Case Search is the main search page. It works without an account.
Ways to search
- By party or other details of the case.
- By case number or diary number. See diary number vs case number if you are unsure which to use.
- By text in orders. Search results can include orders whose text matches your words, so you can find a matter from what an order said.
Open a case
A case page brings together what is known about the matter: its details, its orders in date order with links to the source document, and its history in the Court's records. Use the link to the official document for anything you will file or cite.
Tips
- Search with fewer words first, then narrow.
- Names are spelled in several ways in the records, so try a short form.
- If you cannot find a very recent matter, check again later: records arrive after the Court publishes them.
To keep an eye on a matter, add it to My Cases (see tracking a case).
