Your account, plan and privacy: a complete guide

This guide covers your LawyerInsight account: getting in, what your plan allows, and what you can see, export or delete. The same account works on the website and in the Android app (which is still in closed testing; see the Android page).

Searching public Supreme Court records is free for everyone. Your plan only limits how much of the AI features you can use each day. LawyerInsight is a research aid, not legal advice.

Create an account and verify your email

1. Open Create free account from the account menu, or go to the sign-up page.
2. Enter your Email address, a Password of at least 8 characters, and the same password again under Confirm password.
3. Submit. You see "Your account is ready" and "You are signed in", with a note that a verification link has been sent to your email.
4. Open that email and follow the link. The page says Email verified when it works.

Verification links work once and expire after a short while. Signing in is not blocked while you are unverified. If your link has expired or was already used, the page offers Send a new link.

By creating an account you agree to the terms of use and the privacy policy.

Sign in

Use Sign in from the account menu, or the sign-in page. Enter your email and password. The eye button shows or hides what you type. On a shared computer, use Sign out from the account menu when you finish.

Forgot or reset your password

1. On the sign-in form, choose Forgot password?
2. Enter your account email and send the request. You see "If an account exists for that email, we've sent a reset link." The page says this for every address, so it never reveals who has an account.
3. Open the email and follow the link to Choose a new password. Enter it twice (at least 8 characters) and choose Update password.
4. The page confirms Password updated and says you have been signed out on other devices. Sign in with the new password.

Reset links work once and expire. If yours has, ask for a new one. We never ask for your password by email.

Plans

Everyone starts on Free. Pro raises the daily limits and includes more live voice time. The current limits, from the product's plan configuration, are:

A "day" runs from midnight to midnight India time. Attaching a photo or document to a question counts as one question like any other; uploading the file itself costs nothing.

Payments are not live yet. Pro is granted by hand by the team and may have an end date, after which you return to Free automatically. These limits are settings and may change. The numbers on your own Plan and usage page are the ones that apply to you.

Extra questions (credits)

On top of your plan, you can hold credits. After your plan's daily questions are used, each further question takes one credit instead of being refused. Credits do not reset at midnight and do not expire. There is no unlimited plan. At the moment credits are added by hand by the team, not bought on the site.

If you run out of both, the assistant says your allowance is used up and when it resets. A refused question costs nothing. A separate daily safety limit on AI cost per user also exists, so very heavy use can be paused even before your question count is reached.

Plan and usage

Open Plan and usage from the account menu (or find it on the Account page). It shows:

• Your plan: Free or Pro, and Pro until a date if the plan has an end date.
• Today's usage: AI questions used out of the daily limit, Live voice minutes (or "Not included in your plan"), and AI connector calls.
• Any extra questions you hold, "used after today's free ones".
• When your allowance Resets.
• On Free, What Pro adds, which explains that Pro is granted by the team and gives a contact address. No prices are shown because there are none yet.

In the Android app the same plan and usage appear on the Account and Permissions screens.

Privacy and your data

Open Privacy and your data (account menu, or the Account page under the same heading). It has three parts.

Download my data

Choose Download my data to get one file with your account, tracked cases, alert settings, devices, notifications, share links, chat history, memories and usage events. It holds nothing about anyone else, and no passwords or access keys. You can ask for it up to 5 times an hour. The Android app has the same option under Account > Privacy.

What you agreed to

A list of the consents recorded for you, such as terms, privacy policy and assistant memory, each with its version and the date you agreed (and the date you withdrew, if you did). Links lead to the privacy policy, the terms of use and Manage assistant memory.

Delete my account

This permanently deletes your account and your tracked cases, alerts, chat history, memories, devices, share links and connector keys. Public Supreme Court records are not affected. It cannot be undone.

1. Choose Delete my account.
2. Enter your Password.
3. Type DELETE MY ACCOUNT in the confirmation box.
4. Choose Delete account for good.

Some usage and AI-cost records are kept without your identity after deletion. The privacy policy explains how data is handled under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including your right to ask to see, correct or erase your data. For anything you cannot do yourself in the app or on the website, write to support@lawyerinsight.in.

Assistant memory

The assistant can remember facts and case notes, but only when you ask it to. Open Assistant memory to see them. They are grouped as About you, General and one group per case. You can edit or remove items, use Delete all memories, or turn on Pause memory: while paused, the assistant neither uses nor learns memories, and what is saved stays in the list. Pinned items are always recalled. Only you can see your memory. Avoid storing client-confidential details. More in what the assistant remembers.

Connect an AI tool

AI connector keys let another AI tool use LawyerInsight's court-wide statistics. Full steps are in connect your AI tool. In brief:

1. Open AI connector keys and enter a Key name, for example the tool it is for.
2. Choose Create key. The key is shown once. Copy it now; we keep no copy. If you lose it, revoke it and make another.
3. Paste it into your tool as its instructions say. You can have up to 3 active keys.
4. To stop a tool, choose Revoke next to its key. It stops working at once.

Treat a key like a password: anyone who has it can use your connector allowance. The tool gets the same rules as the assistant: no ranking of lawyers and no outcome figures for a named judge or bench. Calls count against your plan's daily connector allowance.

Notifications

Alerts about your tracked cases (listings, orders, defects) appear on the Notifications page, where you can Mark all as read. Choose which events notify you, and how, in Alert settings. In the Android app, alerts live in Alerts, with push notifications you can refuse. See alerts for your tracked cases.

Write to support@lawyerinsight.in. Say which page or screen you were on, what you did, what you expected and what happened. A screenshot helps. Never include your password.

Common questions

Do I need an account to search? No. Searching public records works without one. An account is needed to track cases, get alerts and use the assistant with your cases.

Can I pay for Pro? Not yet. Payments are not live. Pro is granted by the team; write to support.

My question limit looks different from this guide. Limits can change. Trust the numbers on Plan and usage.

Do my credits expire? No, and they do not reset at midnight.

Is my chat history private? It is kept so you can return to a conversation. You can delete a chat, and deleting your account removes your chat history.

How long do you keep my data? While your account exists, with some records subject to time limits that are still being decided. See the privacy policy.

I did not get the verification or reset email. Check spam, then ask for a new link.
